The catalogue of breeding resources of a bird of Ukraine



  • Selection and genetics department
  • Elaboration of perspective plans of the breeding work with poultry of different species.
    It gives the possibility to generalize the experience of farms work, to determine the markets, the volumes of production and sale of breeding production, to reduce the cost price of production, which is produced, to make better its quality and competitive ability at the market of poultry products. The elaboration of plans will allow to determine the most perspective breeds, lines and crosses of all poultry species, to co-ordinate the technologies of production and supply of breeding production of table eggs and poultry meet producers. That will further the increase of profitableness and lucrativeness of poultry farms, the expansion of their management sphere.
  • Elaborations of the annual programs of different poultry species selection in breeding farms (the inalienable condition for determination of executors of the state selection program in the live-stock farming, which is financed from the state budget of Ukraine) The elaboration of different poultry species selection for the year will give the possibility to plan the technology of poultry selection in farms, the production and sale of breeding produce, to determine the circle of consumers for the concrete produce, to compare the plan and practically obtained indices of the bird’s productivity and to increase the quality of the breeding production.
  • Improvement of the poultry breeding specialist’s skills (the inalienable condition for determination of executors of the state selection program in the live-stock farming, which is financed from the state budget of Ukraine ) It is fulfilled by conducting seminar-trainings during one or two weeks according to the program, which includes a number of questions, such as: specificity and organization of the breeding work with different poultry species, bonitirovka of birds and breeding registration, normative-and-legal documentation for the fulfillment of the law “About the breeding work in the live-stock farming”. The “Certificate of Improvement Qualification” is given after the results of attestation.
  • Determination of day-old youngster sex and training of operator-and-sorters for all poultry species. The carrying out of sexing of birds at the different stages of ontogenesis is within 97-100 %. The weekly courses for training of operator-and-sorters of day-old chickens, turkey-poults, ducklings by sex by different methods (Japanese, Coloursex, Federsex) are conducted. The distribution of youngster by sex and selection of conditions individuals at the day-old age and later gives the big economic effect – from 100 to 800 grn per every thousand of sorted youngster depending on poultry species.
  • Determination of the genetic structure of hen lines by egg-white protein polymorphism and blood groups, the genetic passport obtainment (the inalienable condition for determination of executors of the state selection program in the live-stock farming, which is financed from the state budget of Ukraine ) It allows to estimate the genetic characteristics of every line (cross) of hens, to show the genetic variety of birds populations, their similarity or differences from other forms, to determine the identity of different batches of poultry delivery and their similarity or differences during a number of selection generations; to estimate the perspective of using lines, breeds and hybrids of poultry in management of enterprises.  The genetic passport is given for every examining line after the testing results.
  • Determination of the genetic load of hen lines by the method of anatomy-pathological examination of died embryos. The carrying out of screening of hereditary anomalies will allow to estimate the level of the genetic load in stocks of breeding birds and to plan selection measures for its elimination. That results in the decrease of the embryo mortality of birds by 3-5 per cent.
  • Laboratory of birds reproduction
  • Estimation of incubation quality of poultry eggs, improvement of egg incubation regimes and establishment of causes of high embryonic mortality Estimation of eggs quality by means of determining vitamins (À, Å, Â2, carotenoids), acid quantity, cholesterin, egg-shell strength. On the base of the pre-incubation analyze the causes of decreasing chickens output are examined and the measures on increasing incubation qualities of eggs are suggested. The expert conclusion concerning the quality of hatchable eggs and causes of high waste of eggs during the incubation is given by the results of incisions of incubation wastes. The measures for the decrease of the embryonic mortality and the improvement of the hatchery work are suggested. 
  • Introduction of the technology of artificial insemination of birds at the enterprises, the estimation of reproductive qualities of birds when mating and artificially inseminating, the establishment of causes of their decrease. It is carried out the estimation of the sperm quality, the complex estimation of male-producers. The measures on correcting keeping conditions, the technique of artificial insemination, using sperm diluents for increasing reproductive qualities of birds are suggested.
  • Training and consultations of specialists of poultry farms on questions of birds reproduction and eggs incubation. The trade-improvement courses for specialists of poultry farms in the sphere of birds reproduction and eggs incubation are conducted. The question of complex influence of technological, veterinary and feeding factors on reproductive indices of birds is considered.
  • Laboratory of mycotoxicology
  • Determination of Ò-2 è ÍÒ-2 toxins in corns and mixed-feeds Determination of Ò-2 è ÍÒ-2 toxins in corns and mixed-feeds. Training and probation of workers of laboratories, which control the quality of grain and mixed-feeds, for the improvement of the production of ecologically pure feeds and produce by poultry farms, are conducted.
  • Estimation of effectiveness of sorbents for mycotoxins Laboratory tests of commercial preparations, the elaboration and introduction of preparations for prophylaxis of mycotoxicoses on the base of sorbents
  • Estimation of the effectiveness of probiotics for treatment and prophylaxis of mycotoxicoses in birds Laboratory trials of commercial preparations, working out and introduction of preparations on the base of probiotics for prophylaxis of mycotoxicoses in birds
  • Application of water solutions of sodium hypochloride under T-2 toxicoses in hens  Production of apparatus for obtaining sodium hypochloride and prophylaxis of mycotoxicoses in birds in medium and big poultry farms for the increase of productive qualities 
  • Laboratory of physiology and nutrition of birds
  • Estimation of nutritiousness and quality of feeds, discovery of falsification by means of “raw” protein, protein nitrogen (protein after the method of Barshtain), “raw” fat, humidity, “raw” ashes, calcium, phosphorus, salt, activity of urease, acid quantity, peroxide quantity.
  • Fulfillment of contract investigations on: - determination of the effect of high level of cellular tissue in the ration of broiler-chickens on the assimilability of nutritive matters depending on the origin of cellular tissue, optimal and maximal permissible levels of cellular tissue; - determination of the maximal level and optimal conditions of using sunflower cake in rations of highly productive laying hen crosses; - determination of the effectiveness of the anti-stress additive use when changing rations for broiler-chickens in comparison with gradual changes in diets; - determination of vitamins A, E, B2, C in feeds, premixes, products of poultry farming (hatchable eggs, the liver); - study of physiologic-morphologic indices of present poultry breeds on big poultry farms. Estimation of the physiological state of the bird’s organism by means of determining quantitative indices of ashes, calcium and phosphorus in bones, general protein, calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphotase and uric acid in blood serum.
  • Department of prophylaxis of avian diseases
  • Carrying out of diagnostic investigations of pathogenic material (isolation of causative agents, their identification), working out of treatment and prophylaxis methods in every concrete case; carrying out of epizootic immunomonitoring with the analyze of situation concerning the bird’s development. Conducting of histological investigations of the liver, kidneys and other internal organs of the bird during the keeping period for timely diagnosis of pathological deviations.
  • Diagnosis and prophylaxis of Neisseriosis of all poultry species
  • Department of marketing
  • Working out of standards of all categories (National standards of Ukraine, branch standards, specifications) for fixed groups of produce (eggs and egg products, poultry meat and production of its processing, down and feathers, wastes of poultry farming production, feed meal, feeds and feed additives for poultry, technological processes in the poultry industry and so on)
  • Working out of specifications for any kind of poultry produce according to requirements of individual enterprise (original assortments of production, firm products and so on)
